The Change

You want to step up for the challenge
And yet you step down from the battle.
You silently glide through the glass
Slight trepidation, more anticipation...
As you walk deeper in this tunnel
Your eyes stare straight ahead
Completely oblivious, unaware to the
Chaos destroying the world around you.
Your warm eyes, become
Cold and calculating.
Your lips, once smiling
Now tightly pulled across your face,
With great effort you twist to smile...
A smile colder than you intended it to be.
Your nails have become sharp claws, and
You contract your fingers ready to slash out
At whoever crosses your path.
Your tongue is like acid, poisoning others
With biting words.
Your eyes lost their shine.
Your mouth lost your smile.
And there I found you
Suspended in a different world
Nothing but a shell of the one I had loved.

The world where feelings didnt matter,
Your heart couldnt be shattered,
Your mind had already been stolen,
So your spirit had not yet broken.

I gave you a kiss,
Silently smiled...
Looked once more to your shadowy eyes.
Turned my head as i whispered goodbye,
Didnt really want you to see me cry.
