I wrote some words I thought were true
I declared to the world my love for you
I imagined a place in the world for me
And you to live forever for eternity

I wrote the words and wished them truth
I knew deep down they were dreams of youth
But dreamer I was and dreams I had
These silly dreams would one day drive us mad

I know you felt I was crazy
Obsessive to be more exact
But I wanted you to love me so that
I could love you back.

I painted a picture
I wished I could see
Am I so bad for wanting
This perfect dream as reality?

And still today I dream of then
When the past was warm
And you were my friend.
